So you’re on a journey to find the perfect, all-encompassing tool to manage your busy brain, your disorganized thoughts, and your chaotic schedule. . . welcome to the club! 👋 Now I hate to break it to you, but that “perfect system” simply doesn’t exist, and probably never will. What I can give you, however, is the tool that I’ve found has come the CLOSEST to reaching that unattainable goal: Notion. My love, my everything, the reason for my sanity. With that said, allow me to tell you exactly why Notion is the best tool for ADHD, and how it has the potential to be a total game changer for your multi-passionate life!
My Personal Notion Journey As An ADHDer
We’ve all been there, right? Buying planner after planner from Target crossing our fingers that “this one will be the one;” downloading every to-do list app that was advertised to us on Instagram in hopes that it would finally solve everything.
Spoiler alert: none of them ever solve everything 😅
For years, I struggled with staying organized. Not one planner, app, or system out there felt like the right fit for me, and I swear to you, I tried EVERYTHING. And nothing stuck. I would get overwhelmed, abandon the tools in a matter of weeks (if not days, or hours. . .), and feel like I was, yet again, falling behind in life.
Fast forward to Future Me discovering the magic of Notion, and when I tell you it completely changed everything, I mean it completely changed everything. I know that may sound slightly melodramatic, but if you know me then you know I’m nothing if not honest, transparent, and totally real with every single person I connect with via the interwebs—and that includes you!
Once I started to play around with Notion and learn its capabilities, it didn’t take me long to realize that its flexibility would allow me to build a system that worked for ME. Not for everybody on the planet, not even for every entrepreneur or ADHDer, but me and my brain.
For the first time in my life, I felt in control, calm, and clear about what I needed to do and where I was headed—and my brain felt like it could finally see and process information in a way that made sense.
That’s when I realized I could help other ADHD individuals—people like me who were juggling so many roles, ideas, and responsibilities but just couldn’t find a system that fit. I started sharing what I’d built, and the response was incredible.
Now I design Notion systems that help ADHD people and business owners unlock their potential, manage their time, and thrive without feeling overwhelmed—and I’m guessing that’s why you’re here!
So without further ado, let’s dive into 8 reasons why Notion is the ultimate tool for ADHD, shall we?
8 Reasons Notion is Great for ADHD Individuals
1. One-stop shop
I think that one of the biggest obstacles I so often see ADHD people run into is trying to bounce back and forth between 5-10 different apps, websites, journals, and programs to manage EVERYTHING in their lives. This may work for neurotypical folks whose brains are able to multitask or easily go between different systems, but you’ll never find me successfully keeping track of my endless tasks if they’re not all in one place.
Enter: Notion, where you can manage all areas of your life in one place! Your personal life, your work, your business, your hobbies, your passions and ideas, you name it and Notion can store it. By keeping everything you need in one place, you not only eliminate the need for multiple apps or software—you also just make your life a whole lot easier by giving yourself one button to click in order to get to your home base, your second brain, whatever you want to call it.
Sounds like the dream, right? It really is ONE tool to replace 4-5 tools that you may be using, especially if you’re a business owner.
(If you are, you’ll be obsessed with my Calm & Clear Notion System for ADHD Entrepreneurs!)

2. Flexible structure
Have you ever downloaded a template of some sort, or tried “the newest and coolest” productivity app that the internet seemingly can’t stop talking about—only to find out that it just. . . doesn’t work for you whatsoever? 🙃It can feel like something is wrong with you, and it’s honestly frustrating to get so hopeful about something that doesn’t end up making sense for your brain.
The biggest reason I love Notion, though, is that you can make it work for pretty much anything: any task, any project, any person, any brain. Whether it’s with lists, boards, or eye-catching visuals that help keep you focused on the page in front of you, Notion is the perfect place for frazzled brains to find relief, and to come back to a more peaceful state of mind. I swear, every time I clean up my Notion after a busy week or check off a few tasks in one sitting, it’s like I’m a whole new person 😅
No two brains are the same, and no two systems should be either—it’s completely unrealistic to expect that one thing will work for every single person. My Notion systems are fully flexible, allowing you to adjust and grow your tools as you evolve; one day you might look at a Kanban board and feel totally overwhelmed, and the next it might be just what you need. You never know what you might need, so you deserve to have all the options easily laid out in front of you.

3. Customizable design
Remember when you were a kid and everything in your teacher’s classroom would be exploding with colors, pictures, and cute little designs? We probably all thought it was just for the sake of aesthetics at the time (if we even gave it any thought), but more likely it was actually to help keep our attention during those long days! Visual cues are a super powerful tool for people with ADHD, whether you’re a kindergartner learning the ABC’s in a classroom or a busy adult who can’t keep track of their tasks in the workplace.
I know just how much visual aids like colors, images, and aesthetic layouts help me focus, and want to come back to a system, so Notion was a no-brainer once I saw how customizable the design was. It’s easy-peasy to drag and drop images wherever you want (motivational quotes, reminders, affirmations, or just pretty things with colors you love), color-code your information (my favorite), and create visually appealing layouts that’ll keep you accountable. After all, you are going to be spending a heck of a lot of time inside your Notion system if you’re using it to manage the majority of your life—why not make it a fun place to be?!

4. Easily adaptable
The thing that always gets me with paper planners is how difficult it is to make any changes. Unless you want to use a pencil for everything, but that’s not nearly as fun as using colored pencils and glittery pens, is it? And I absolutely despise the look of a page full of crossed out words, or calendar events covered in X’s because they were rescheduled. Nothing motivates me less than the inability to change my mind and adjust as needed!
With Notion, it is unbelievably easy to make changes, whether it’s to your tasks or the way your setup looks. Sometimes you just need a fresh perspective in order to see things more clearly, and luckily Notion offers a TON of customizable view options! Plus, whenever you need to, say, change a due date for a task, or reschedule an event, it’s wildly easy to drag & drop ‘em to their new homes.
5. Accessible anywhere
One of the questions I get most often about Notion is whether or not it works on mobile—and the answer is a big, fat, glorious yes! Notion works on both your phone and your computer, so it’s literally always with you, wherever you go. There’s a great Notion app that’s completely optimized for mobile, and
My pro tip is to create some sort of “Quick Access” page in your Notion that gives you easy access to pages you use often, such as your to-do list, content manager, or grocery list! You can easily add a Notion widget to your phone’s home screen for quick access, and then you’ll have way less friction between you and the pages that help you keep track of your life. The fewer buttons/links you have to click to get to your system, the more likely you are to actually use it.
P.S. Both of my flagship Notion templates, the ADHD Daily Dashboard 2.0 and the Calm & Clear Dashboard for ADHD Entrepreneurs, come ready to go with a Mobile Access Page for you to use! All you have to do is open up this one little page and bam, all the most important parts of your system are within arm’s reach. You’ll be able to stay organized on the go and effortlessly manage tasks, ideas, and lists from anywhere.

6. Built for your needs
The beauty of Notion is that it works WITH your ADHD, not against it like so many modern tools & systems do. Instead of forcing you to stay within a certain structure or limiting you to specific layouts, you have the ability to create your dream system with ease. This may be a little overwhelming at first, and it can take a bit of practice to get the hang of it—so be patient with yourself and trust the process.
Now if you don’t feel like creating your own system from scratch, downloading a pre-made one like the ADHD Daily Dashboard can save you a ton of time! Instead of spending hours designing the best layouts and getting so caught up in how it looks that you never actually finish, download this comprehensive dashboard to effortlessly manage your life & have everything you need at your fingertips. I know I may be biased, but it’s a gold mine, trust me!
7. Grows with you
Unlike paper planners that restrict you to a certain time period, or a certain number of pages, Notion really adapts to fit your evolving needs. As your life, hobbies, finances, and friends change, so can your Notion.
Don’t feel like you need to manage your tasks on such a microscopic basis anymore? Broaden the categories you sort them into.
Feel like your brain needs a bit more stimulation to focus lately, and that your Notion design just isn’t doing it anymore? Swap out all of your images and visuals with fresh new ones to keep things exciting.
Want to start a brand new project and need somewhere to store all your ideas, manage tasks, and create a timeline? Set up a new project page in your Notion and let it keep track of everything for you!

8. Great for multi-passionate people
Finally, Notion is a true lifesaver for multi-passionate people like myself. I often feel that other apps and programs are designed to fit one type of person with one type of project, especially when it comes to business owners and entrepreneurs. But whether you’re juggling multiple projects, hobbies, or income streams, Notion can help you track it all in one place. Effortlessly switch between your life and your business by having it all linked on the same dashboard, and easily move through your different projects by containing them all in a dedicated projects container. No matter if you have 1 project or 10 that you want to manage, Notion can help you with it all!
